Sample AxF files produced by TAC7 and PANTORA

AxF files are material files which are currently produced by the TAC7 Scanner and the accompanying PANTORA software. The files contained here can be used to test integration of the AxF SDK into your applications and integration within other Third Party rendering applications and other aspects of your workflow. Each compressed package contains an AxF material, a sample rendering in a default environment and possibly extra maps as noted for testing. AxF files currently come in three flavors:

• SVBRDF
• CarPaint
• BTF

The BTF formats are not being actively upgraded so all natively supported versions are in AxF 1.0 or are available via legacy format importing. SVBRDF and CarPaint formats are progressively being upgraded and various versions are available from this site. To get a comprehensive set of test samples you need to be licensed as part of the AxF SDK program. To learn more about AxF, refer to the white paper.

Materials in this section can be used in your environment for testing and are freely available for downloading for your users. The categories below are organized by release.

While you are permitted to distribute these materials, we recommend that anyone who uses these materials obtain them from this site directly as the content is subject to change.

Notes: BTF formats are more complex. These files are produced by the DOME and are currently not being upgraded (but may be in the future).

Notes: AxF 1.0 SVBRDF format has the base level of maps supported, Diffuse, Specular, Roughness, Normal and Anisotropic.

Notes: AxF 1.1 contains improvements for the SVBRDF format by adding a Fresnel map and a ClearCoat normal map with an Index of Refraction Map.

Description: AxF 1.2 CarPaint version 2 (CPA2) (Size: 673 MB) Download

Notes: AxF 1.2 contains improvements for the CarPaint model (CPA2). These improvements include a ClearCoat normal map for orange peel, and Index of Refraction Map, an improved flake model, and some improvements to the color table.

Notes: AxF 1.3 contains a version of the CarPaint version 2 (CPA2) with non-refracting clear coat. This format is required for compatibility with NVIDIA’s MDL format as integrated into iRay.
